Selveya

Selveya, (formerly known as Chloe et Les Vaillantes), is an French-Swiss indiefolk band that formed in the summer of 2021 in Bern. the four musicians create a unique sound at the crossroads of indie folk, chanson, Pop and Swiss and Celtic traditions — music that is as poetic as it is political.

Their instrumentation – guitar, violin, Hackbrett, double bass, and rich vocal harmonies – evokes the spirit of old Emmental (Swiss) folk ensembles while unfolding into cinematic soundscapes. The result is music that feels both intimate and epic, weaving strength and sensitivity into a sound that is rhythmically driving and emotionally charged.

Selveya draws their songs from a collective creative process, often starting from lyrics or initial ideas by Chloe Levaillant. Her multilingual writing — in French, English, and Spanish — blends personal reflection with political consciousness, addressing themes such as ecological destruction, collective responsibility, friendship, solidarity, freedom, resilience, and feminism.

Following their debut album Footsteps (2023), Selveya’s second album, Aliver (2025), recorded at Hit the Road Music Studio with Adrian Parzentny, expands their sound with playful rhythms, melodic richness, and lyrical storytelling. The title evokes vitality and presence, reflecting the band’s commitment to music that engages both heart and mind.
